Employee Spotlight: Mr. Jacob Rexroat
Mr. Rexroat, more commonly known as Mr. Rex, is enjoying his 6th year as a member of the Frankfort High School faculty and 9th year of teaching. Mr. Rex is a native of Frankfort, KY, where he attended Peaks Mill School (at the OLD Peaks Mill School), the Frankfort Christian Academy, and Frankfort High School. In high school, he was on the swum team for a year, the wrestling team for a year, and played church-league basketball for three years. Mr. Rex went on to the University of Kentucky, where he earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in education. He taught at Shelby County High School for a year, has taught at Franklin County High School in two separate one-year positions, but has found his home at FHS. Over the past 9 years, Mr. Rex has taught Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, AP Statistics, Precalculus, and dual-credit College Algebra and Precalculus courses through KSU. He has also served as the Senior-Class sponsor since 2017.

Mr. Rex is about to celebrate his 6th anniversary with his wife, Lisha, who teaches 7th-grade math at Second Street School. They have two sons: Thomas, who will be 5 this December and is in kindergarten at Second Street, and Jackson, who is almost 2 and 1/2 years old and attends daycare at Second Street. When Mr. Rex isn't working, he enjoys spending time with his family, doing construction, reading, playing video games, and playing sports. He especially enjoys playing tennis, golf, and, above all others, basketball, which he plays weekly, as well as playing in leagues in Versailles and Frankfort. He a blue-blooded UK fan and can't wait for basketball season to begin. 

Mr. Rex and his family attend Buck Run Baptist Church, where he sings in the choir and serves on a missions-fundraising committee. He enjoys opportunities to serve others using his skills as an educator and in construction, which he put to use when he was able to serve on a mission team in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, three years ago. He has also served on teams serving in Frankfort, Mt. Sterling, eastern KY, West Virginia, Mississippi, and Louisiana.
