The number of illnesses we have encountered this winter has been overwhelming. Our attendance has suffered severely, in both students and staff. As always, our top priority is the health and safety of our students.

To (again) combat illnesses, the FIS will be closed Wednesday, February 18, through Friday, February 20, 2026. These three days will serve as NTI days #6, #7, and #8. Please see the attached graphics for information. Your teachers will also be in contact via Parent Square and email.

A few things you can do to help:
*Wash jackets, coats, hats, and gloves.
*Wash backpacks.

Per the CDC (https://www.cdc.gov/flu/prevention/index.html):
*Avoid contact with people who are sick.
*If you are sick, limit contact with others as much as possible.
*Clean frequently touched surfaces.
*Cover coughs and sneezes.
*Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Germs spread this way.
*Wash hands often with warm water and soap.

During this time, we will be deep cleaning and disinfecting all of our learning spaces.

To increase visibility, the Frankfort Independent Schools will operate on a one-hour delay on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

Buses will operate one hour later than normal, and doors will open one hour later than normal.

The YMCA would like to try to offer childcare during the weeks of March 23 through April 10, 2026. Those weeks are as follows:

March 23 - 27, 2026 - EXCEL
March 30 - April 3, 2026 - PEP
April 6 - 10, 2026 - Spring Break

If you need childcare during any of those weeks, please fill out the Google Form linked below to let us know. Childcare is open to any student 5 years of age (already in kindergarten) through 12 years of age.

The cost structure is as follows:
All-day - $160 per week
After care - $65 per week
